Why use Save-the-Date Cards?
Save the Date cards are a great way to let your guests know of your upcoming marriage. These should be sent out 6-9 months before your wedding date.

This will provide plenty of notice if travel arrangements and hotel reservations are required. Save the Dates are available in postcards, magnets, scratch off cards and more.

How many invitations should I order?
The best way to figure out the amount to order is to count up the number of guests you are inviting, divide it in half and then add an extra 25.

You send one invitation per couple/family (if children are younger. The extra 25 would be for mistakes and last minute additions. Sometimes your photographer / videographer will want an invitation to use in their presentation.

You'll also want to keep some for your scrapbook, to frame, add to a candle etc.

It is less expensive to order the extra 25 when you place your order then to have to reorder them at a later date.

When should I order my invitations?
Invitations should be ordered about 4-6 months before your wedding date. They take approximately 2-3 weeks to come in from the time your order them.

Once in, you have to give yourself time to address and assemble them. Be sure to have confirmed the details of your ceremony and reception before ordering your invitations.

This includes the date, time and the location (s). You should also have your guest list just about finalized so you know how many to order.

Give your Guests a Secret Number!
When assembling your guest list, give each address a number. Write this number lightly, in pencil, on the back of their response cards prior to mailing.

If guests forget to write their name on the card, or if you cannot read their writing, you will know who is responding!

When do I send out my wedding invitations?
The wedding invitations are sent out 6 weeks before your wedding date. For summer weddings or if you have a lot of out-of-town guests they can be sent out up to 8 weeks in advance.

What about postage for my invitations?
Before addressing your invitations, put together a complete invitation ensemble with all of your enclosure cards, envelopes, maps etc.

Bring the ensemble to your local post office and have them weigh it to determine the proper amount of postage. Invitations that are over an ounce, square, under or oversized, require extra postage.

While at the post office ask the clerk to show you the new wedding stamp sets. These are a .61 cent stamp for you invitations and a matching .44 cent stamp for your response cards.
